Safeguarding & Support
Safeguarding at Norton College is everyone’s responsibility. We are committed to providing our students with a safe, caring and inclusive environment. We also work in partnership with our parents and carers to ensure everyone has the information and support they need to keep our young people safe.
Mrs Rosie Wilson, Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensures high quality safeguarding is at the forefront of all practices within school. We maintain very high standards with regard to staff training in safeguarding practices. In addition to fulfilling statutory requirements, all colleagues have regular training and updates.
Staff with pastoral responsibilities also have additional training to support their enhanced roles in working with young people. Every member of staff sees safeguarding as a priority and our programme of continuous professional development ensures all colleagues are kept up to date and that policy is effectively implemented.
We are committed to multi-agency working and have long-standing and effective partnerships with all partners within the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership.
