Visual communication and information underpins all creative learning within the subject. At Norton College, we recognise that all students have an individual experience, of the graphic world and this is nurtured throughout their education. As a subject, we encourage students to develop their own creativity as well as understanding the work of other designers to help enhance and broaden their knowledge and experience of design. We strive so that our students can achieve, promoting a knowledge and passion for the subject which can develop and flourish in a supportive and creative atmosphere.
The teaching team is dedicated and ambitious, with high aspirations for all students. We have a dedicated team of 2 teachers, who share a wealth of teaching experience and professional experience. We are also well resourced with a wide range of drawing and ICT equipment.
The curriculum is delivered so that students have the opportunity to revisit skills, techniques and knowledge which is firmly embedded into their creative practice. The curriculum has wider links to other subjects such as art, media and music. Students are encouraged to attend extra-curricular activities such as KS3 art club to develop their skills and passion for the subject. GCSE students have 5 lessons per fortnight.
